Senator Bernie Sanders speaks at SC State House ‘MLK Rally’

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Among the hundreds of attendees at the 2019 Annual King Day at the Dome Monday, were politicians, ready to speak to the crowd at the State House.

The MLK day event draws crowds to honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, it also draws candidates who are thinking about a potential Presidential run.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders took to the podium to talk about the significance of MLK day. Sanders spoke to the crowd at the South Carolina State House about racial justice, equality and education, among other topics.

Sanders also plans to visit Florence Monday evening and return to Columbia, on Tuesday, to speak at Benedict College.
