COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– South Carolina Emergency Management officials kicked off  a Severe Weather preparedness event Monday.
The event is part of South Carolina Severe Weather and Flood Safety Week, which runs through Saturday.
SCEMD officials say this week is to remind people to take the proper safety precautions during flash floods, severe storms, or tornadoes.
Officials also announced a statewide tornado drill that will take place Wednesday at 9 a-m.
