COLUMBIA SC (WOLO) – With over 1.25 million people living with Type 1 Diabetes, also known as Juvenile Diabetes, and the number expect to rise to 5 million by 2050, finding a cure is a major initiative for the JDRF.  There are millions of dollars needed each year, according to Beth McCrary, for research, treatment, and the ultimate goal of finding a cure.

In an effort to raise needed funds and awareness of the affliction, JDRF Midlands are once again hosting the annual favorite Denim and Diamonds Gala.  The event, which includes a live and silent auction, music, food, and even education.

The Denim and Diamonds is planned for Saturday at Segra Park (Formally known as Spirit Communications Park) just off Bull Street, with a start time of 5:30.
