Lexington County Coroner identifies child fatally shot in reported home invasion
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Lexington County Coroner says it has identified a child who was fatally shot during a reported home invasion off Cedar Vale Drive.
According to Coroner Margaret Fisher, an eight-year-old resident of the home, Mason Hanahan, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at an area hospital as the result of an apparent gunshot wound.

According to the coroner, the shooting occurred in the early morning hours of May 14, 2019 in the 100 block of Cedar Vale Drive.
The investigation by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is ongoing.
