Cayce Elementary unveils mural painted by local artist and entire 5th grade class

West Columbia, SC (WOLO) — Things are more colorful at one Midlands elementary school.

This morning Cayce Elementary School unveiled a mural that was painted by artist Michael Geddings and all of the 170 students in the schools fifth grade class.

School officials say the painting of a tree represents that Cayce is developing and growing new leaders.

Assistant Principal Allyson Stoy-Long says,

As we begin implementing Leader in Me, this mural was a perfect initiating project for our current fifth-grade students, to create a legacy piece of art that embodies the 7 Habits,”

The roughly 8-foot mural, funded by the House of Raeford, will hang in the school’s main hallway area.
