OCSO: Domestic violence suspect wanted for striking woman in the head with a rock

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office says they are looking for a man wanted for an assault that left a woman in the hospital.

“This individual used a large rock to strike a young lady in the head,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said, “sending her to multiple medical facilities to be treated for serious injuries.”

Deputies say they have obtained a warrant for the arrest of 20-year-old Tanarious Dash, who is wanted for domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

On February 16, investigators say they were called to a residence on Rivelon Road when a passing motorist witnessed a woman being pushed down. When the motorist turned around to assist the victim, the suspect fled the seen. According to investigators, the victim told the motorist that her child’s father assaulted her. Deputies say the victim was taken to the Regional Medical Center and then transported to a trauma hospital.

Authorities describe Dash as a Black man who stands at six feet tall and weighs approximately 265 lbs.
