For the 17th year the City of Columbia hosts their Domestic Violence Walk to fight back against abusive behavior.
“They have been victimized, they have been beaten down, they feel alone, and they feel afraid. And they feel like there’s no hope. I’m here today to say there is hope. There are people out there waiting for you to reach out to them and we just got to get them driven to those services,” says Wilson.
“Everybody wants to feel safe in their hometown. Everybody wants to feel safe in their community. Everybody wants to feel safe where they go eat or watch a movie. So that’s where I think the commonality is at for everyone, is we all want to feel safe in our community,” Fordham says.
