Richland County Coroner: Former Dutch Fork football player killed in car crash Tuesday

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford released the name of an 18-year-old killed in a car crash on Tuesday. Officials say Elijah Chapman was died after crashing into trees near the intersection of Shady Grove Road and Will Richardson Circle.

Officials say Chapman graduated from Spring Hill High School in 2020 and was formerly a member of the Dutch Fork High School football team., according to his father.

The crash remains under investigation by the Richland County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
