USGS: 13th earthquake since December reported near Elgin

(Courtesy: SCEMD) 1.3 magnitude earthquake reported near Elgin late Tuesday.

KERSHAW CO., S.C. (WOLO) – The United States Geological Survey has reported another earthquake near Elgin on Tuesday.

Officials reported a 1.3 magnitude earthquake at 11:29 p.m.

The State Emergency Management Division says this is the 13th earthquake recorded in the area since December 27, 2021.

No injuries were reported.

SCEMD says since earthquakes can’t be predicted, people should prepare by practicing safety drills.
