Shaw Air Force Base airman dies in non-combat incident in Niger

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Department of Defense says an airman assigned to Shaw Air Force Base died in a non-combat incident in Niamey, Niger. Officials say Staff Sergeant Dennis F. Melton, of Waverly, Tennessee,  died on February 18.

The incident in under investigation.
