Fountain in Five Points going green ahead of St. Pat’s festival
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Five Points is getting ready to go green. Friday, the Five Points fountain will be dyed green as organizers get ready for the St. Pat’s event in two weeks. The event runs from 5-7 p.m. at 747 Saluda Avenue.
“The Official Kick-Off to St. Pat’s is a fun way to prepare for the main festival,” says Katy Renfroe, Association Manager of the Five Points Association. “It brings a lot of excitement for the children and their families to engage in something so simple like dyeing the fountain but makes a major impact on the Five Points village.”
The ‘Luck of the Donor’ blood drive will also take place Friday. You can stop by to give blood from 2-7 p.m. on Saluda Avenue. All donors will get two free tickets to this year’s festival on March 19.
“The Five Points Association is proud to partner with The Blood Connection during our signature event of the year and feel that this is an important endeavor to take part in,” says Renfroe. “During our celebration of all things Irish, we are excited to participate in the ‘Luck of the Donor’ Blood Drive to bring in much-needed donations to help save lives.”
Our very own Tyler Ryan is hosting the dying of the Five Points fountain.
