CRFD crews rescue one person from house fire on Furwood Circle
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Columbia-Richland Fire Department says crews responded to a house fire on Furwood Circle. Firefighters say they arrived to the home shortly after 1:15 p.m. and were told that someone was trapped inside.
Crews say fire was coming out of the front of the home. Firefighter say they entered the home and found one person in the back of the home whom they safely brought out.
Authorities say the fire was contained and extinguished.
According to officials, the person who was trapped in the home was transported by EMS due to smoke inhalation. Authorities say another person at the scene who attempted to rescue them was treated and released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
