Consumer News: Tips to save money at the gas pump

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Gas prices here in the Midlands continue rising to near record highs. GasBuddy shows South Carolina’s average cost for a gallon of gas is $4.10, a nearly 10 cent rise from Monday. In Columbia, gas prices also rising to $4.08. GasBuddy says the cheapest gas you can get in the Midlands sits at $3.69 a gallon, at the Shell Station on Broad River Road in Irmo.

ABC NEWS– Nationwide, gas prices are also hitting a new all-time high. AAA reports prices jumped to $4.40 Wednesday, nearly a nickel increase in just 24 hours and are expected to continue climbing through Memorial Day, as the summer road trip season begins. There is even worse news if your car takes diesel, as those prices skyrocketed to an average of $5.55.
