Newberry County honors veterans who gave their lives with Memorial Day weekend ceremony

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– In honor of Memorial Day, Newberry County honored those who have given their lives for our country in a ceremony Sunday. It included the presentation of the colors, music, remembrance of Americans who’ve fallen serving our country and the reciting of names of Newberry County veterans who’ve passed away in the last year.

We spoke with one veteran about the importance of these ceremonies.

The service is sponsored by the American Legion, the City of Newberry and Newberry County.
