Planned Parenthood South Atlantic to provide care in compliance with Fetal Heartbeat Bill
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Planned Parenthood South Atlantic says they will continue to provide abortion care in compliance with the Fetal Heartbeat Bill.
The Fetal Heartbeat Act prohibits abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected. Officials say the law allows exceptions for rape and incest as long as the fetus is less than 20 weeks along, along with cases where the mother’s life is in danger.
President and CEO Jenny Black called the recent Supreme Court ruling “harmful.” She also says they will continue to protect reproductive freedom for everyone.
The Fetal Heartbeat Bill was previously blocked after Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit.
