South Carolina ranked 9th least safe state, according to WalletHub

South Carolina is considered 2022’s ninth least safe state in the U.S. That’s according to a study conducted by personal-finance website WalletHub.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— South Carolina is considered 2022’s ninth least safe state in the U.S. That’s according to a study conducted by personal-finance website WalletHub.

The company says they compared 50 states across 53 key metrics to determine the most secure states in their 2022’s Safest States in America report.

Metrics used to rank the states included percentage of fully vaccinated residents and assaults per capita. The unemployment rate was also considered.

South Carolina ranked 38th in fatal occupational injuries per 100,000 full-time workers; 50th in fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles of travel; 28th in sex offenders per capita; 46th in murders and non-negligent manslaughters per capita; 45th in assaults per capita; and 37th in percentage of residents who are full vaccinated against Covid-19.
