CHARLESTON, S.C. (WOLO)— A 30 year-old Summerville man was sentenced after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor.

Authorities say Cameron Dyer was identified as a member of an instant messaging group that distributed child pornography.

The FBI obtained electronic devices from Dyer’s home in Dorchester County and found 56 images and 32 videos of child pornography on the suspect’s cell phone.

He was previously convicted of the same crime in 2015 in Massachusetts and sentenced to 18 months in prison and two years of probation.

Dyer is currently sentenced to 10 years in prison, will be required to serve life term of court-ordered supervision, and was ordered to pay $21,000 in restitution.
