COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— The Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 14 year-old Richland Northeast High School student with bringing a weapon on school property.
School Resource Officers were made aware of a video showing a student with a gun inside a school bathroom just before 2 p.m. yesterday, say officials. The student handed over the pocketknife to school administrators, but did not locate a gun.
Authorities say the teen admitted to bringing a BB gun and putting it inside another student’s bag where it was located by administrators.
The student was charged for bringing the knife on school property and released to his parent.
