Deputies: jail employee charged with assault
Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)–According to the Richland Co. Sheriff’s Dept. Martavius Smith, 25 was arrested Friday for an incident deputies say took place after a bond hearing on Wednesday.
Investigators say Smith and a 41 year old detainee began to argue following the hearing which continued into the intake area at which time Smith punched the detainee.
Deputies say Smith was charged with misconduct in office and assault and battery, third degree.
