Tiger King’s Doc Antle convicted in Virginia
COLUMBIA, S.C. (CNN)—A zookeeper featured in Netflix’s “Tiger King” is facing prison time for buying endangered lion cubs.
Tuesday Virginia’s attorney general announced Bhagavan Antle was convicted of four felonies.
Antle, known as “Doc Antle” in the hit docuseries, was found guilty of two counts of wildlife trafficking and two counts of conspiring to traffic wildlife.
Prosecutors say he illegally purchased endangered lion cubs and planned to display the animals at his wildlife and safari park in Myrtle Beach.
