CDC marks increase in Midlands’ COVID hospitalizations

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– If it seems like more people are coming down with COVID lately, you’re right.
According to the CDC, both Richland and Lexington Counties have seen a more than 60% increase in hospitalizations for COVID in the past week.
Health officials say the increase comes from the BA.2.86 strain making its way through the US in recent weeks.
