Lexington County Deputies charge Leesville Man with attempted murder

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Lexington County Sheriff’s Deputies say they have charged a Leesville man in connection with an attempted murder.

According to deputies, 58 year old Daryll Jamar Thompson, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

Deputies say Thompson shot a rifle multiple times toward the victim while at the victim’s property in the 400 block of West Hampton Street in Leesville Sunday. According to Sheriff Jay Koon, the victim was struck by a round in the neck.

According to deputies, Thompson was arrested after a search Sunday morning.

Thompson is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
