Tameika Isaac Devine Wins District 19 Senate Seat Primary

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The results are in and the stage is set for the District 19 Senate Race next year.
Former Columbia City Councilmember Tameika Isaac Devine won the primary with more than 50% of the vote.
Real Estate Agent Lizzie Smalls was the only republication candidate running unopposed.
The primary was held after Senator John Scott in August.
Divine the new Democratic nominee spoke about the victory and about being grateful for the support of the residents of District 19.
I am looking forward to keeping this race going in January, finally bring it home to represent them, said Devine.
Devine and Small face off in the special election on Jan. 2.

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The results are in and according to the South Carolina Election Commission the projected winner of the state Senate Race in Richland County is Tameika Issac Devine.
Nearly two hours after the polls closed the votes were in. ABC Columbia’s Alex Tejada has been following the story and results as they came in Tuesday night. Earlier Alex had a chance to speak with some of the candidates about why they felt they were the best person to take over the seat left vacant by Democratic Senator John Scott who passed away in August.
Former City of Columbia Councilwoman, Tameika Issac-Devine walked away with 54% percent of the vote beating out her Democratic competitors, State Representative Kambrell Garvin, Activist Javar Juarez, and Johnnie Cordero. Kizzie Smalls was the only Republican candidate running unopposed for the state Senate District 19 seat.
