Gas Prices below $2.99 in many places across SC and nation

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Prices at the pump are averaging $2.99 a gallon at some gas stations across the U.S. and in South Carolina, according to GasBuddy.

The national average is down 38 cents over last month, according to GasBuddy. The national average now stands at its lowest since March 28, and is projected to drop another 10 to 20 cents by the end of the year, while drivers in 33 states can now find at least one gas station at $2.99/gal or lower, says GasBuddy.

Here in the Midlands drivers are paying an average of $2.99 per gallon. According to GasBuddy, the cheapest station in Columbia was priced at $2.79/g yesterday while the most expensive was $3.29/g, a difference of 50.0 cents per gallon. The lowest price in the state yesterday was $2.69/g while the highest was $3.79/g, a difference of $1.10/g.
