COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — A 21-year-old was arrested in connection with a double murder that occurred earlier this year, said Richland County deputies.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said Christian Irick was arrested on South Carolina State University’s campus while visiting a friend around 11:30 a.m.

Irick is being charged with two counts of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in relation to an incident that occurred at the 1000 block of Willow Oak Drive on Sept. 26, 2023.

He is being held at the Alvin S. Glen Detention Center.

“We can almost copy and paste – another crime committed by someone out on bond for gun and drug charges. We must start holding criminals accountable,” Sheriff Lott said.
