City of Columbia, Sumter County celebrate Veterans Day with annual parades.
The City of Columbia is ready to honor our local Veterans with a special event today! The 45th Annual Veterans Day Parade will be held on Sumter and Laurel Streets beginning at 11 a.m.
This year’s grand marshals are Vietnam Veterans. It’s known as one of the southeast’s largest Veterans Day Parades.
Sumter County is also holding its Annual Veterans Day Parade today! It starts at 10 a.m. on North Main Street at Bartlette Street. A ceremony will follow at 11 a.m. on the front lawn of the Sumter County Courthouse. Vendors will be hosting on the back lawn of the courthouse. Police say road closures and other traffic control measures downtown will start at 8:30 a.m.
