DHEC offering free testing at local health departments

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Today is World Aids Day.

State health officials say they will offer free testing at most local health departments on Tuesday, Dec.5.

South Carolinians can be tested for HIV, STDs, and Hepatitis C at no cost.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) says between 2020-2021, over 14 hundred people in South Carolina were newly diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.
