Midlands man arrested after guns and methamphetamine found, deputies say
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands man was arrested after Sumter deputies found guns and methamphetamine at his home says the sheriff’s office.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says an executed search warrant at a home led to the arrest of Gregory Sigler on the morning of Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
During the search methamphetamine and a stolen handgun were found.
Sigler was taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and released on a surety bond of $35,000, Sumter deputies say.
“This is a fine example of investigators who work tirelessly every day behind the scenes. Most will never know the hours they work or the sacrifices they make, but they don’t do it for the glory. They do it to make Sumter County a safer place for all of us,” Sheriff Anthony Dennis said.
He is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a stolen handgun.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at 803-436-2000.
