One dead, one injured in three-vehicle Sumter County collision
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead and another is injured after a Wednesday morning three-vehicle collision on Pinewood Road, say state troopers.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision happened 5 miles South of Sumter around 3:50 a.m. on Dec. 6.
Troopers say a Toyota traveling East on Pinewood and a Mercury traveling West on the same road hit each other.
Then a Jeep traveling East on Pinewood hit the Toyota.
The driver of the Toyota was taken to a nearby hospital by EMS due to injuries.
The driver of the Mercury was pronounced dead due to injuries.
The collision is under investigation by the SCHP.
