Coroner: Man dies in Winnsboro fire

WINNSBORO, S.C. (WOLO)– The Fairfield County Coroner’s Office is releasing the name of the man who died in a home fire on Saturday, say the coroner’s offices.

According to Fairfield County Coroner Chris Hill, Frank Turner, 63, of Winnsboro, S.C. is the victim from the Saturday, December 30, 2023, Durham Place Road fire.

The coroner’s office says an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of Mr. Turner’s death.

The Fairfield County Coroner’s Office and SLED are continuing to investigate the fire.

Officials say the fire was the second fire fatality in Fairfield County for the year of 2023.
