New “Green Concrete” Could be a Gamechanger

The earth is warming up quickly.  By far the biggest reason is that human activities are adding more heat-trapping gases to the atmosphere than are there normally.  One significant heat-trapping gas is carbon dioxide.  Over the last 150 years the concentration of carbon dioxide has increased by 40% over the natural range of the last several thousand years.

Lots of folks are familiar with one source of the problem – burning of fossil fuels: gas, oil, coal, etc.  But what you may not know is that 7% of heat-trapping gases produced each year are from the making of concrete – that’s according to the Wall Street Journal.  So any improvement in the concrete production process can have a big impact on all of us.  Fortunately there’s a new “Green Concrete” that’s becoming available.  You can read all about it here:
