Senate District 19 special election voting

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Voting for Senate District 19 special election is underway in the Midlands.

Polls opened at 7 a.m. and will remain open until 7 p.m.

The seat became vacant after the death of Senator John Scott on August 13, 2023.

Tameika Isaac Devine (Democrat), Dr. Michael Addison, (Independent), Chris Nelums, (United Citizens Party), and Kizzie Smalls, (Republican) are all candidates for the open seat.

The district represents an area that includes north Columbia and northwest Richland County.
