Tiktok creator from the Carolinas goes viral, inspiring many along the way

NORTH CAROLINA (WOLO) – In the world of social media, Tiktok is where many find themselves strolling through endless content. In the midst of endless content is where you will find videos from one creator who lives in the Carolinas and has gained much success as he brings laughter to many. 

Jhavion Tate says he started posting videos during the pandemic. Through telling jokes and sharing encounters with family and friends, he has gained nearly 60 million likes and more than 680,000 followers. 

“I just kept talking kept talking. Thats what I always do. My mom always said I’ve never met a stranger,“ said Tate. 

Tate has created many videos that went viral, but when he is off the screen, you can find him studying as he is in college, focusing on becoming a dentist. He says he will continue to balance school and Tiktok because its not just about the jokes; its about the laughter that reaches those in the darkest of places. 

“It was last year around November; a girl had messaged me and said that she was trying to commit suicide and she said she had went to my page and a video popped where I said ‘you may be going through something right now . . whatever you’re going through you will get through it’. And she said seeing that video really inspired her to keep trying and keep fighting,” said Tate. 

For those who have a dreams to be a content creator, Jhavion has some advice. “Don’t let what people say define you cause because if I would have stopped back when I first had 100k, getting all the hate comments and the backlash, if i had of stopped then, there wouldn’t have been a now,” said Tate.
