Riverbanks Zoo beloved koala dies

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is mourning the loss of a beloved koala Charlotte.

Officials said in a Facebook post that Charlotte died from a respiratory infection.

She was the last offspring from their longtime resident koala, Lottie.

Last year the zoo says Charlotte and Coedie welcomed their Joey and Kirra who will continue her legacy.
