Son of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dies at 62

(CNN) — The youngest son of Doctor Martin luther king junior has died.
Dexter Scott King died in his sleep at his California home Monday following a battle with prostate cancer. He was 62.

King was a graduate of Morehouse College, his father’s alma mater. He worked as Chairman of the King Center and President of the King Estate. King’s wife, Leah Weber King said quote,  “he faced every hurdle with bravery and might.”

His brother, Martin Luther King Junior, III also issued a statement on social media discussing the sudden loss.

I am deeply saddened to share that my brother, Dexter Scott King, has passed away. The sudden shock is devastating. It is hard to have the right words at a moment like this. Please keep the entire King family in your prayers, and in particular Dexter’s wife, Leah Weber King. pic.twitter.com/m66arGAifN
