County jail enhances contraband reduction efforts
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County officials say the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center has been working on contraband prevention measures.
A press release states, that the process has resulted in arrests of five detention center staff members and two contracted employees at the jail.
The process to address contraband in the jail is the result of efforts between the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
“It’s appalling to see the level of deception that individuals will utilize to compromise the security and safety of the facility and those who work and are cared for there. The County’s actions are indicative of the increased contraband reduction measures,” said Richland County Administrator Leonardo Brown.
