Bamberg residents work together to clean up community after tornado
BAMBERG, S.C. (WOLO)– Volunteers from various public sectors gathered together to clean up Bamberg after a Category EF-2 tornado recently hit the area, said county officials.
The community clean up effort held by Keep Bamberg County Beautiful (KBCB) and Bamberg County Public Information Officer Alisha Moore had 40 volunteers on Calhoun Street collecting 60 bags of trash on last Friday, Jan. 26.
“It’s in the toughest times that a community can show not just the rest of the country but also themselves what they’re made of. And in this moment following the devastation of an EF-2 tornado, Bamberg County has clearly demonstrated how a united community can persevere,” said Moore.
It has been several days since the tornado touched down in Bamberg and caused damage to several buildings.
