Deputies: Traffic stop leads to drugs, guns seizure
Orangeburg Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies in Orangeburg Co. say a traffic checkpoint lead to the discovery of a variety of illegal drugs and paraphernalia over the weekend.
Investigators say Elijah Grant, 24, and Aretha Brooks, 55, of Bowman were each charged with trafficking cocaine and meth, as well as possession of a weapon, ecstasy, Xanax, and marijuana.
In addition deputies say Emmanuel Johnson, 35, of Rowesville is charged with trafficking meth.
Deputies say the drugs and gun were seized after a traffic safety checkpoint on Mozel Ln.
Investigators say they also searched the suspects’ home on Mozel Ln. after tips from the community calling it a drug house.
There deputies say a large quantity of drugs were discovered.
“This is a tribute to the community, they want their community safe, and we are more than happy to oblige,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said. “And we’re committed to continuing these efforts in the Bowman community.”
