Local Living: Celebrate Valentine’s Day at state museum, Black History Month at Richland Library, USC musical feast

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– In today’s look at Local Living, the Richland Library is celebrating Black History Month this weekend.

You can learn about food, fine arts, family history and more.

It takes place this Saturday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Richland Library on Assembly Street. Admission is free.

 

The University of South Carolina School of Music is hosting a musical feast at the Koger Center on Saturday beginning at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m.

Attendees can experience all sorts of musical performances while enjoying food and drinks.

Proceeds will fund “Friends of the School of Music” student scholarships. It’s $125 per person, $200 per couple and $75 for young professionals.

 

Columbia Animal Services is hosting an adoption special throughout the month of February. You can bring home your new fur-ever friend for just $14.

The shelter is located on Humane Lane. It’s open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

On Saturday it’s open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

 

And you can celebrate Valentine’s Day at the state museum.

“Amore Under the Stars” will feature a champagne bar, delicious food, a laser light show and live music from Cola Jazz.

The event is on Feb.14 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tickets are $80 for the general public and $60 for members.
