Meta to label images created by AI on Facebook and Instagram
(CNN)– In the coming months Meta says it is adding “AI Generated” labels to images created by third-party tools.
It is working with other firms to create industry-standard invisible watermarks to identify those images.
The labels will roll across Facebook, Instagram, and Threads in multiple languages.
Meta already applies a similar label to images created with its own AI generator tool.
Lawmakers and tech executives have raise concerns about AI ’s capability to produce realistic images especially ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
