Local Living: Jump Start Your Heart Day Party, Mardi Gras Festival and Parade, Pet adoption special

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– In our look at Local Living, if you’re looking for some family fun this weekend, the City of Columbia is hosting a ‘Jump Start Your Heart Day Party’ on Saturday.

There will be activities, music, giveaways and more.

The event runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Drew Wellness Center.

The event is free to attend.

Columbia Animal Services is holding an adoption event at Bierkeller on Saturday.

Its a speed dating edition in honor of Valentine’s Day.

Potential adopters will have the chance to mix and mingle with the many dogs in attendance, learn about their personalities, dating profile style and even take part in a kissing booth.

The event runs from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. All adoption fees will be waived.

There will also be a Mardi Gras Festival and Parade in Columbia.

The Saturday celebration will start with a parade on Jim Hamilton Boulevard in the Rosewood District at 11 a.m.

The festival will feature live music, food trucks, local vendors and more.

Tickets are $10 and free for kids 12 and under.
