Uber turns profit for first time as a public company

(CNN)– Good news for Uber, the ride-share company is finally turning a profit. It posted its first full year of profit as a public company last year.

In previous years, Uber has seen heavy losses. One exception is 2018, which was another profitable year.

But that profit was fueled by investments and not operations. Uber’s food delivery unit helped save the company during the COVID-19 pandemic.
