Instagram to stop recommending political content

(CNN)– Technology company “Meta” is making a change to what political content you’ll see on social media platforms.

Instagram will quit recommending political content from accounts you don’t follow.

On Friday, the popular photo and video app said this will also apply to “Threads”.

Both apps will add a setting to let users opt in to political content recommendations.

Customization tools will also be rolled out on Facebook at a later date.
