Republican reaction to Donald Trump’s Projected win in SC Republican Presidential Primary
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–Republican reaction coming in Saturday night to Donald Trump’s projected win of the South Carolina Republican Presidential Primary.
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson reacted tweeting ‘South Carolina Loves President Trump. Congrats on another HUGE win!’
The South Carolina Republican party released the following statement after Donald J. Trump was named projected winner in the South Carolina Republican Presidential Primary.
SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick’s full statement:
“South Carolina is Trump Country again! It was true in 2016 and 2020, and South Carolina Republicans just put an exclamation point on it today. His Promises Made, Promises Kept agenda is what strengthened our country before, and can do it again. If we want to grow our economy, close our Southern border and save our country from a radical leftist agenda, then we need to unite our Party right now and put Donald Trump BACK in the White House this November,” said SCGOP Chairman Drew McKissick.
Presidential Candidate Nikki Haley addressed supporters following the South Carolina primary and her projected loss to Trump:
Haley said, in part, “Today, in South Carolina, we’re getting around 40% of the vote. That’s about what we got in New Hampshire too. I’m an accountant. I know 40% is not 50%. But I also know 40% is not some tiny group. There are huge numbers of voters in our Republican primaries who are saying they want an alternative. I said earlier this week that no matter what happens in South Carolina, I would continue to run for President.”
