Airbnb bans the use of indoor security cameras
(CNN)– Airbnb is banning indoor security cameras starting April 30th. The rental app says it’s to protect renters’ privacy.
Cameras used to be allowed in common areas like hallways and living rooms. Hosts had to say in the listing they had indoor cameras and make them clearly visible.
The new rule doesn’t allow them at all. It comes after numerous reports of renters finding hidden cameras.
The new policy still allows outside cameras but hosts have to disclose their use and locations before guests book a listing.
