Family of teacher killed by falling utility pole files lawsuit
WAGENER, S.C. (WOLO)– The family of a South Carolina teacher who was killed after being hit by a utility pole last year is suing Dominion Energy and Comporium.
The lawsuit claims in August of last year, Wagener-Salley High School teacher Jeunelle Robinson was walking along Main Street in Wagener when a truck hit several low hanging utility lines and pulled 8 poles from the ground causing one to hit Robinson.
She later died from her injuries. The lawsuit alleges defective poles were more than six decades old and suffered severe wood rot which Dominion and Comporium were aware of.
Both companies have not responded yet.
On Monday, March 11, the Robinson’s family and the families’ attorney Justin Bamberg announced the lawsuit.
