Driver dead after single-vehicle collision in Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– One person is dead after a Sunday collision on Parklane Road, said the SCHP.

According to Master Trooper William Bennett, the collision happened around 4:43 a.m. on Parklane Road, north of Columbia.

Master Trooper Bennett said, the driver of a 2017 Hyundai Sedan was going east on Parklane Road when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a curb and overturned then hit a power pole.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as Syreeta J. Johnson, 44, of Elgin by the Richland County Coroner’s Office.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
