Spring Begins Today

Today is the first day of spring.  More precisely, the sun shines directly over the equator at 11:06pm today, marking the beginning of spring.  On this day, everyone on the earth experiences the same amount of sunshine and darkness.  We, in the northern hemisphere, will see a little more daylight each day until the first day of summer.
