Reward offered for information on deadly Lexington fire that took life of firefighter

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is offering a reward for information on a fire that claimed the life of a Lexington firefighter, said the department.

According to ATF Public Information Officer Corey Ray, the fire happened on Tuesday, March 26, at a vacant house in Lexington.

The fire took the life of Lexington Fire Department Fire Captain Ronnie Metcalf who received severe injuries and was airlifted to a regional burn center.

Several days later Captain Metcalf lost his life as a result of those injuries, said ATF.

The reward is for up to $2,500 for information on the fire as investigators believe the fire was set intentionally.

ATF is working with the Lexington Fire Department and the Lexington Police Department to continue to investigate.
