Community organizations asking for donations to address Summer food insecurity for students

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– People are being asked to donate to ColaEats to help address Summer food insecurity for students in the community.

The ColaEats initiative was created by a collaborative effort from community organizations, including the Columbia Food Policy Committee, Columbia Urban League, No Kid Hungry, Wholespire Richland, and others.

Through the initiative school districts Richland One, Richland Two, and Lexington/Richland Five will each be provided five hundred $120 gift cards to reduce food insecurity for students over the summer months.

Anyone looking to donate have three options: mail a check, donate to the ColaEats account or donate online.
